Soon after moving to Des Moines, in September 2007, I started organizing the Des Moines Rehabers Club. The DSMRC mission is to promote neighborhood revitalization and restoration of Des Moines' unique building stock by informing, educating, inspiring, and supporting each other in all phases of home renovation and maintenance.
The idea for the DSMRC comes from my participation in the St. Louis Rehabbers Club, brainchild of my friend Marti Frumhoff who passed away in 2007. I hope that as the DSMRC grows and matures, we are able to have a positive effect on the preservation and rehabilitation movement in Des Moines.
